Trade the trip. Keep the crew.
Offer the duty you want gone and RosterBuddy shows it only to crew who can actually take it — same airline, right aircraft, enough rest. No group-chat begging. Agree the terms, make the change in your airline's system, and confirm it to each other.
A swap in three steps.
-
1
Offer a duty
Pick a flight from your roster and say how you'd like to trade it: swapped for one of theirs, or simply covered. Add an incentive if you like, as a fixed amount or open to offers.
-
2
Agree the terms
Only crew who can take it see it: same airline, the right aircraft, no clashes and enough rest on both sides. They propose, and you accept, decline or counter until it suits you both.
-
3
Make the change, then confirm
Each of you makes the change in your airline's own system and marks it done. Once you both confirm, the duties change hands in RosterBuddy and any incentive is paid by bank transfer (PayNow for Singapore), straight to the other crew member.
Made for how crew actually roster.
Your roster in a few taps
Add flights, standby and training as they appear on your roster. Where flight lookup is switched on, a flight number and date fill in the route, times and aircraft. Days off are worked out from the gaps.
Checked before anyone sees it
Clashing duties, rest between duties and aircraft qualifications are checked for both of you, and checked again whenever the terms change. A trade that can't work never shows up.
Private by default
Your roster is yours alone. Crew see only the duty you offer and your terms. Your name and staff number are shared only once a trade is agreed.
Swap it, have it covered, or sweeten it
Trade a duty for one of theirs, or give it away to someone who wants the hours. Offer an incentive to make it worth their while, and counter until the terms are right.
Paid directly, by bank transfer
Incentives go by bank transfer (PayNow for Singapore), straight from the person offering the duty to the other crew member, after you both confirm the change. RosterBuddy never holds the money and takes no fee.
Multi-day patterns, handled
A pattern is traded whole. If it clashes with several of the other person's flights, they give all of them for it in one proposal, so nobody ends up double-booked.
What RosterBuddy does, and what it leaves to you.
We make finding the right person fast and fair. The change itself still happens in your airline's system, the way it always has.
- We doShow your duty only to crew who can take it, check both rosters, and keep a record of the agreed terms and each step that both of you can see.
- You doMake the change in your airline's own system, follow your airline's rules and your contract, and pay any incentive you agreed. Nothing changes on your real roster until you do.
- We don'tTouch your airline's systems, hold or take a cut of your incentive, or show your roster to anyone.
Questions crew ask first.
- Will my airline know I'm using this?
- RosterBuddy is a separate app with its own accounts, and it isn't connected to any airline system. A duty you offer is shown only to crew at your airline who could take it, without your name. The change itself is made in your airline's system, which is the part they see.
- Is an agreed trade a done deal?
- Not until it's in your airline's system. Once you both accept, each of you makes the change there and confirms it in RosterBuddy. If it isn't done 12 hours before the duty, the trade is cancelled, or, if one of you has already made the change, a moderator steps in.
- Can I pay someone to take a duty?
- Yes. When you offer a duty you can add an incentive: a fixed amount, or open to offers. After you both confirm the change, you pay it by bank transfer (PayNow for Singapore) straight to the other crew member. RosterBuddy doesn't hold the money or take a fee.
- What do you do with my roster?
- We use it to work out which duties you can take and who can take yours. Nobody else sees it; other crew see only a duty you choose to offer. We don't sell it or share it with airlines or advertisers, and you can remove entries or delete your account at any time. The full details are in the privacy policy.
- Which airlines does it work with?
- You enter your roster yourself, so there's no roster format to support. You pick your airline when you set up, and you only ever trade with crew from the same airline. We're starting in Singapore, where incentives are paid by PayNow.
Your next roster could be the one you wanted.
Thanks, you're on the list. We'll write to you at that address when your invitation is ready.
